Enjoying God Ministries

Enjoying God Ministries (EGM) exists "to proclaim the power of truth and the truth about power." This isn't just a catchy phrase. It reflects both what is lacking in the church today and what is burning in my heart.

EGM exists to serve the body of Christ. Our aim is to be a resource not only for pastors and leaders but for all Christians who long to dig more deeply into the Word of God and to experience the fullness of the Spirit's power. Enjoying God Ministries is a non-profit ministry organization of Dr. Sam Storms who brings over 30 years of ministry to believers seeking a deeper and more passionate relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ.

EGM vision focuses on seven distinct dimensions that are the heartbeat of what we are about. They consist of:

Speaking

The extent of Dr. Storms itinerant speaking ministry has yet to be determined. He hopes to travel a minimum of one weekend each month and a maximum of three (this will depend largely on the financial needs of the ministry). Speaking will include Sunday pulpit preaching, 1,2,3 day seminars and weekend retreats and conferences.

Literature

Our hope and prayer is that this will be the focal point of Enjoying God Ministries. We look forward to the opportunity to devote ourselves to producing the kind of literature that will encourage and edify both pastors and lay Christians. One of the primary ways of making this material available will be through our website. Literature will include 1-2 new books per year, bible study guides (for lay people, churches, Sunday School and home groups) and a monthly EGM newsletter that will address urgent issues facing the church. It will also include devotional bible studies as well as updates of ministry activity, etc.

The purpose of the website will be to provide access to all ministry resources and some thirty years of teaching and preaching materials. It will include but not be limited to biblical and theological studies, book reviews, news and current events in the Christian and secular world, social commentaries, film reviews (helping Christians experience the grace of God in cinema) and links to other pertinent web sources.

Video

Our goal with video is to produce a wide array of bible studies and topical series on video and DVD that can be used in Sunday School classes and home groups. These would be professionally produced 30-minute expositions of the Word of God (anywhere from 3 to 6 per video), together with resources for Q & A, prayer and ministry, etc.

Audio

All of EGM's preaching, teaching, and conference ministry, as well as specially produced commentary on the Word and issues of importance to the church would be made available on CD and audio cassette.

Seminars

We plan on hosting weekend seminars and retreats, perhaps three or four times a year, primarily (but not exclusively) for pastors and church leaders. These would be small (10-12 people) gatherings in Kansas City with one of two emphases: (1) Biblical and Theological intensives (concentrated instructional sessions on the most relevant issues and problems facing pastors today) (2) Spiritual Renewal, Prayer, Healing and Prophetic ministry (designed to refresh and re-energize leaders and lay people struggling in life and experiencing ministry burnout)

Church Consultation

One of the most rewarding things God has enabled EGM to do over the years is provide counsel and direction to churches facing crisis or relational struggles. We would like to make ourselves available to churches and leaders to help them in the following areas: leadership retreats, conflict resolution, biblical and theological evaluation of church life (organization, polity, worship services), resolving theological disputes, clarifying and articulating vision and values and hiring of pastoral staff.

As you can see, EGM exists to serve the body of Christ. Our aim is to be a resource not only for pastors and leaders but for all Christians who long to dig more deeply into the Word of God and to experience the fullness of the Spirit’s power.
